35th anniversary in 2013

Year 2013 was a year of celebration for the company. Kyrel´s founder Seppo Parhankangas started his business in 1978, manufacturing electronic appliances in Kyröskoski. Kyrel has been in existence since 1985 as a limited company.

Kyrel today

The current company Kyrel Oy was founded in September 2003, when Flextronics International Ltd had announced it was planning to close its operation in Kyröskoski. The new Kyrel acquired manufacturing assets from Flextronics, and negotiated to continue manufacturing for the local customers. The new Kyrel took over the operations January 1, 2004.

In September 2004, Kyrel together with the local authorities established a real estate company, to acquire the facilities from Flextronics.

Values and attitude

Since the beginning of new Kyrel Oy, customer satisfaction, knowhow and profitability were defined as key business values.

People with deep knowhow and long experience in business were one of the key elements in the beginning of building the new future for the plant.

Customer base has been at positive trend all the time, which we are very proud of. We want to improve our customer service show our customer commitment in practice. Business environment has been extremely challenging lately and the key business elements have proven themselves to truly exist. We have been able to develop quality of our processes and service during though times.

Future

Despite of the general trend, we still believe in the future of electronics manufacturing and similar light assembly industries in Finland. Compared to so called low cost countries we may pay higher hourly rates, but we aim to stay competitive through our extensive knowhow, continous improvement in productivity, cost conciousness and by seeking new opportunities together with our customers and partners.

As a proof in our strong belief in Finnish electronics manufacturing, we invested in 2013 over 3 million euros in manufacturing equipment and systems. We will continue to invest in our competitiveness also in future.
